DMW have been the appointed asbestos consultants for this particular NHS Trust since 1996. The work performed is the Heart Centre development which opened in May 2004. Our company conducted the survey and asbestos removal management of the buildings that were demolished as part of the £60 million project.
In February 2002, a Type 3 survey was conducted in order to identify asbestos materials that were visible and also concealed within the building fabric. From the findings of the survey, DMW developed a a detailed specification for the removal work. A removal contractor was selected and instructed to commence the removal of ACM's which took a month to complete. DMW Health and Safety supervised and continuously monitored the work. Following completion, re-occupation testing was conducted on the relevant areas. The resulting Asbestos Project File was then handed to the Principal Contractor and the demolition and construction work proceeded with all asbestos risks removed.
