Chlordiflouromethane, otherwise known as 'R22' is an HCFC commonly used as a refridgerant in air conditioning systems and other refridgeration applications. By virtue of the Montreal Protocol, the purpose of which is to control the use of particujalr agents which have been proven to be damaging to the earth'sozone layer, is use in new systems within the EU was banned in 2004. All systems containing it which become faulty after the 31st of December 2009 becoming obsolete and replacable by law.
DMW are able to identify the presence of R22 in systems and also to conduct annual leak tests as required for systems where its presence has been confirmed.
