The risks of Asbestos in residential properties
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral and can be found in a wide range of building materials, including textured finishes such ‘artex’, eaves, gutters and rainwater pipes, older pipe lagging and boilers, garage and shed roofs, linings for walls, ceilings and doors, insulation panels in some storage heaters, bath panels, boxing in kitchens and bathrooms etc, flue pipes, loose infill to floors and in partition walls, floor tiles and underlying adhesive, ironing boards and fire blankets.
