A family who suffered at the hands of contractors who ripped out an asbestos boiler contaminating their property have finally received compensation for their troubles.

Fortunately the family have been refunded for the cost of the furniture and fittings in time for Christmas.

Nursery worker Margaret, said: “We thought we were going to be sitting at Christmas with no furniture because nobody would take responsibility for what happened. We were made to feel we weren’t a priority, but getting this resolved was a priority for my family.”

A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: “We have been working with Mr Sweeney to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. He has received a cheque for £5,000 to replace the items removed.”
