DMW represent IATP at Launch of Asbestos Awareness Support Cymru and Asbestos Bill Briefing.

Michael Antoniw, Assembly Member for Pontypridd won the ballot to introduce a Private Members Bill at the Welsh Assembly earlier this year, aiming to introduce legislation that will enable Welsh NHS costs for asbestos victims’ treatment to be recovered from negligent employers or their insurers.

An introductory debate was held at the Assembly on 28 November 2012. Wayne Williams (representing IATP) attended the meeting, providing input to the intended Bill. This also marked the launch of Asbestos Awareness and Support Cymru (AASC), which aims to be the leading connected community to enhance the quality of life for those living with asbestos related disease in Wales.
